Carma Van Allen

Associate Director

Carma L. Van Allen is a Program Associate in Higher Education and works specifically in the area of Diversity Initiatives. She is also the Associate Director of the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship (MMUF) program. She earned her BA in Sociology from Brown University in 1995, and her MA in Higher Education Administration from the University of Michigan in 1996. Prior to joining the Foundation, Ms. Van Allen served as Associate Director of the Institute for Recruitment of Teachers at Phillips Academy-Andover, a national program to encourage students of color to pursue careers in teaching and academia. She also worked at New York University in the College of Arts and Science Advising Center where she counseled and ran programs for undergraduate students.
