Grant Reporting Guidelines
The Foundation requires timely and informative interim and final grant reporting. Grantees should consult the Foundation’s “Grant Reporting Guidelines” when preparing narrative and financial reports. Narrative and financial reports should be submitted together on or before the due dates specified in the Foundation’s award letter. The Foundation may suspend grant activities and require the return of funds for delinquent or unsatisfactory reporting, and will consider reporting history in the awarding of future grants.
Forms to be Submitted with Reports
The cover sheet and templates for financial reporting, described in the Foundation’s “Grant Reporting Guidelines,” can be found through the links below:
- “Grant Report Cover Sheet”
- the Foundation’s “Budget and Financial Report” or “Budget and Financial Report for Non-US Institutions”; and
- the “Endowment Financial Report” for grants that include endowment funds.
- (Please note, we recommend first saving the budget and financial report templates to your desktop as “Excel Macro-Enabled Workbook” files, rather than opening them directly in the browser.)
When preparing narrative and financial reports, grantees should also consult grantmaking policies for detailed information on Foundation requirements, as well as the Foundation’s “Policy on Intellectual Property” for grants involving the development of software and/or the creation of digital images or content. If a grantee determines that a change of grant terms is needed, it should consult with program staff about the modification before submitting a report.
