Carolina Chavez joined the Foundation as a human resources generalist in February 2019. She provides assistance in the development and management of human resources' programs and guidelines for recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and organizational development. She also serves as a first point of contact for the Foundation's benefits programs.
Ms. Chavez has over 10 years of human resources experience, with both for profit and nonprofit organizations. Most recently, she was the HR coordinator/ office manager supporting more than 300 employees at the West Side YMCA, the largest branch of the YMCA of Greater New York. Prior to working in the nonprofit sector, Ms. Chavez was the HR benefits assistant at Hachette Filipacchi Media, publisher of ELLE Magazine, Woman's Day, and Car & Driver. She also holds a strong customer service background from working at the American Museum of Natural History and the New-York Historical Society.
Ms. Chavez holds a bachelor's degree with a double major in Spanish and sociology from Hunter College, and is a SHRM-CP since 2015.
