Washington National Cathedral to Replace Confederate-Themed Stained Glass with New Windows by Celebrated Artist Kerry James Marshall

“Cathedrals are never finished…it’s a wonderful thing to be able to add beauty & meaning to this place.”—The Very Rev. Randolph Marshall Hollerith on commissioning new stained glass windows by artist & MacArthur Fellow Kerry James Marshall. The Washington National Cathedral has also commissioned Elizabeth Alexander to write a new poem that will be inscribed in stone next to Kerry James Marshall’s windows.
