Jay (Koby) Oppenheim

Jay (Koby) Oppenheim is a senior data analyst in the Office of Institutional Research.  In this role, he works on research design, data collection, and analysis in collaboration with Foundation staff to support the broader program objectives of the Foundation.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Mr. Oppenheim was a research analyst at the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment at the central office of the City University of New York (CUNY), where he conducted both quantitative and qualitative studies and worked extensively with survey and administrative data.   Previously, Mr. Oppenheim worked in survey research at public health and market research organizations, where he coordinated survey design and fielding of multi-year longitudinal studies.  Mr. Oppenheim received his PhD in sociology from the CUNY Graduate Center, where he studied group boundaries and identity of 1.5- and second-generation immigrants in Germany and the US.  He holds a BA in comparative literature from Cornell University.
