DateFebruary 10, 2021
Event Justice Storytelling

Libraries and archives are both empowering underrepresented communities and advocating for increased representation of marginalized stories and experiences in our country’s historical record. These institutions have the power and potential to confront race, policing, and mass incarceration, to foster equity of access and participation, and to educate and train the next generation of librarians, archivists, and activists.

Speakers and guests at this event included:

  • Elizabeth Alexander, president, Mellon Foundation
  • Dr. Carla D. Hayden, Librarian of Congress
  • Dr. Kelly Lytle Hernández, Professor, UCLA; Project Director, Million Dollar Hoods
  • Jarrett Martin Drake, PhD candidate, Department of Anthropology at Harvard University

This event was originally livestreamed on February 10, 2021
